Confidence

I have never been one to lack confidence...some would say I have a tendency to be over confident...so that may be the lense in which I am viewing our current world situation.

I heard lots of folks who were concerned about our presidential election.  "What if Obama wins? You know what will happen don't you?..."  "If McCain wins we are in for an even bigger mess!"  Blah, blah and on and on.  Now that the election is over it doesn't seem that the worry and concern have subsided much.  For example, I have heard that last Saturday was the largest day for gun and ammo sales in our history.  I don't know if it is true (and am not gonna waste my time trying to verify it) but at any rate, it typifies our collective mindset of uncertainty.

But stop and think about it for a minute.  Scripture tells us that our God is bigger than all our politics and the ultimate authority in our world.  God also assures us that God will work all things to the good for those who love Him and are called according to His purposes.  Things might not be the same in the U.S. come January 2009 (not necessarily a bad thing).  Things might not be the same in the world.  But I do know that our God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.  And in that I can trust.

Every piece of our currency bears the words, "In God We Trust."  I am going to claim that promise and I am going to be confident that our God is still in control.

Peace.

To say God is resourceful is something of an understatement. After all, God not only owns all resources, He made them----from nothing.
