Where Jesus Walked, Day 1
Today we flew nonstop from ATL to Tel Aviv – 11 ½ hours on an airplane!  We left at 10:45 pm and arrived at 5:30 pm – we lost all of Monday.  THEN, we all got on a bus to ride for two hours to our hotel for the first three days of our trip.

Even though it was dark when we arrived and we couldn’t see anything but lights and traffic on the bus ride, I still get a sense that I am somewhere very special.  As we rode over the top of Mount Carmel where Elijah did “battle” with the false prophets, I could truly feel the meaning of the Hebrew name for the mountain, Carm El – the garden of God.

Then as we arrived in Tiberius I could almost see in my mind’s eye all the Jews fleeing Jerusalem to Tiberius in 70 AD when the temple and the city were destroyed.

Our hotel is on the shore of the Sea of Galilee where Jesus called many of his disciples, where he gave Simon-Peter lessons on true fishing, where Jesus walked on water.

I haven’t seen anything with my eyes, but I certainly see the Holy Land in my soul.  Looking forward to tomorrow.
