Waves
For great is your love, reaching to the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies Psalm 57:10 NIV     When at the beach do you just sit and watch the waves come in, especially in the evening?  I like the sound that the waves make as the gently lap upon the shore...it is a calm and soothing sound.   Then, as the tide comes in, it removes all traces of the day’s activities. Foot prints are erased. Any litter that has been carelessly left behind disappears.  Sand castles are washed away and any holes that were dug are filled with either sand or water. It is as if no one had been at the beach during the day. Most of all, it is calm and peaceful…l just sit and be… I am content.
As I ponder the ocean and the rhythm of the waves, I am reminded once again of God’s grace.  Daily, every second of the day, God’s grace gently washes over us covering us.  just as the waves come to the shore and cover the day’s activities. God’s grace washes away all that is dirty, misshapen, broken in our lives.  Just as the sound and movement of the waves bring a sense of calm and peace so does God’s grace.
Even as I sit, write, and envision the beach, I can feel God’s presence and grace surrounding me.  This is such an awesome gift.  Can you feel God’s presence?  Are you at peace?  If not what can you do about it?  To start, make time to just sit for a few moments and give yourself over to God.  (This may be hard but keep trying.  You will be glad that you did.)  Remind yourself of who you are and who God is.  You are a beloved child of God.   God is greater than all your problems and those of the entire world rolled into one.  God is capable of handling any situation in your life.  The question is will you let God?
Prayer:  Almighty God who was, and is, and who is to come, you are all powerful and your grace washes over me each day.  Thank you for your love and your faithfulness, even though at times I fail to acknowledge you as I should.  Forgive me.  Amen
